  • Accrued Interest

    Interest that has accumulated on a bond since the last coupon payment. When you buy a bond between coupon dates, the purchase typically includes accrued interest paid to the seller.

  • Amortizing Bond

    A bond that repays principal gradually over its life along with interest, rather than returning the full principal only at maturity.

  • AT1 Bond

    Additional Tier 1 bonds issued by banks to meet regulatory capital norms. They are typically perpetual and subordinated, and may carry higher risk features than senior debt.

  • Auction

    The process used to sell new government securities. In India, auctions may include competitive bids (often for larger participants) and non-competitive routes for eligible retail investors.
